Apple patent shows a MagSafe charger that can charge an iPhone, AirPods
Apple has filed patents for a host of devices in the past and not all of those devices have seen the light of day. And so, it remains uncertain whether or not Apple will indeed turn these patents into devices in the future.
Apple, last week, launched the iPhone 12 series smartphone. Along with its next-generation iPhones, the company also launched the MagSafe chargers that can wirelessly charge the iPhone 12 series and even the Apple Watch. Now, a new patent shows what the company's next-generation wireless charger would look like.
Apple has published a patent, which gives us a glimpse of the next-generation MagSafe charger. As per a report by Patently Apple, the MagSafe charger in question looks more like a cover that not only charges the iPhone but also protects its display. At the back, it has a battery and on top it there is a separate module for charging Apple AirPods.
Another image shows a different approach that the company could take towards including the AirPods for charging in the MagSafe charging case. The second image shows the two earbuds of the Apple AirPods being placed in two separate charging zones towards the top and bottom of the charging cover.
The patent document also includes Apple iPad charging cases. This charging case as per the report will also convert into a stand for the device.
That said, Apple has filed patents for a host of devices in the past and not all of those devices have seen the light of day. And so, it remains uncertain whether or not Apple will indeed turn these patents into devices in the future.
