Facebook Live takes on YouTube and Twitch with World of Warcraft

In 2014, when there was a sudden interest in streaming games, and Amazon bought the leading platform, Twitch. Even YouTube set up a specialised section for the same.

Live streaming games has been much popular among gamers before Facebook Live made its way to the public. 1.7 million people broadcast game streams every day and over 100 million people tune in to watch them. Now, Facebook is joining hands with Blizzard, the creator of Warcraft , to let players stream the game on Facebook.

In October 2013, Twitch had 45 million unique viewers,and by February 2014, it was considered the fourth largest source of peak Internet traffic in the United States. And now, with Facebook's wide reach of 1.6 billion users, the phenomenon will only get bigger.
