To give you a quick brief, Call and Message Continuity is a feature available on select Samsung Galaxy smartphones. This feature enables users to send and receive text messages and make or answer calls using a Wi-Fi connected Galaxy Watch or Galaxy Tab. The only caveat is that users have to set Samsung Messages as their default messaging app ditching any other messaging app that they might want to use including Google Messages.

Now, it seems that both Google and Samsung want to change that by allowing Google Messages users using Samsung Galaxy smartphones to make use of this feature.

That said, the report notes that there are only two references to Samsung's CMC feature in Google Messages yet. This means that for all we know Google may never ship this feature to Google Messages users. For now, all we can do is wait until Google releases an update for its messaging app.
