These fun blogs should keep you company when you’re having a dull day and inspire some brilliance of your own, wriets Meenakshi Reddy Madhavan.

Ah, Internet surfing. Who doesn't love it? It's like amnesia in a way — you get to office, turn on your computer and then, before you know it, it's 6 pm and you have no idea what you did the entire day. Today's column is about blogs that I return to when I need a chuckle, or just when I'm having a slow day.

About page: "Some tattoos are great. Girl in martini glass? Sexy! Giant swimming koi? Appreciative of other cultures! A well-executed tree, branches to the sky, roots to the earth? Nice. Very tasteful. Symbolic, yet understated. But some tattoos are... less great. In fact, some are brain-explodingly terrible. The butterfly tramp stamps, NASCAR emblems and Star Trek commemorative plate-style back pieces that walk this earth are an assault on the eyes and an affront to all who encounter them.

Specs: This blog sports pictures of people with the ugliest or weirdest tattoos in the world. Dolphin sex? Check. Michael Jackson's face? Check. Hilarious, and sometimes pity-inducing for people who actually do these things to their bodies.
Passive-Aggressive Notes

URL: passiveaggressivenotes.com
Tagline: Painfully polite and hostile writings from shared spaces the worldover.

About page: "Many of the notes found here aren't really passive-aggressive even by our generous standards. Some of them are really more aggressive in tone, and some of them are more passive — polite, even — but they all share a common sense of frustration that's been channelled into written form rather than a direct confrontation. It's barbed criticism disguised as something else — helpful advice, a funny joke, simple forgetfulness."

Specs: Oh, the funniness. And the fact that we've all received a passive aggressive post-it, or email or Facebook status message at some point or the other.

Children Of The 90s
URL:childrenofthenineties.
blogspot.com
About page: Dedicated to the reverence and perseverance of all things 90s.

Specs: If you grew up in the 1990s, you'll find a lot of nostalgia and humour hidden away in this blog. It's US-based, so not all of it will hit home, but remember, the 1990s was the age of globalisation, so a lot of things are similar. Random examples: Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego?, Clueless, Alanis Morissette.

This blog researches and talks about 90s phenomena. I'd be thrilled if someone started an Indian version of this, with stuff like Complan and those light up shoes.
