LinkedIn has rolled out a bunch of new features to its platform. These new features not only make it easier for users to make video calls to other users, but they also enable users to perform tasks such as editing and deleting messages, sharing emoji reactions and inviting others to join an ongoing conversation.

Here's are all the new features that LinkedIn announced:

Video meeting

LinkedIn has added support for a new feature that enables users to make video calls to others. LinkedIn users can now use Microsoft Teams, BlueJeans by Verizon, or Zoom directly in their LinkedIn messages to chat with others. This feature will be available soon.

How to use it: Click on the video icon next to where you type a message > choose Teams, Zoom, or BlueJeans in the pop-up > Sign in with your log-in details.

Edit / delete a message

The company has also introduced a feature that enables users to edit or even delete a message that has been sent accidentally.

How to use it: In the LinkedIn app press-and-hold or double tap on the message > tap on edit or delete button. On desktop hover over the message > tap on the options button > select edit or delete buttons.

Emoji reactions

LinkedIn has also added the ability to share emoji reactions while responding to messages.

How to use it: In the app double-tap on any message > select the emoji you want to share. On desktop hover on a message to get the same set of tools.

Manage multiple conversations

Another feature coming to LinkedIn is to manage bulk messages with ease. Users can now archive or delete multiple conversations. They can also read or unread all messages at once.

How to use it: In the app press and hold on a message until you see checkboxes next to each message > check the box next to each message you want to manage > select Mark unread or Delete or Archive option.

Report inappropriate messages

LinkedIn is also making it easier for users to flag inappropriate, inflammatory, or harassing messages by bad actors.

How to use it: You see an in-line warning indicating that the message was automatically flagged for an issue. You can then view and report the message or dismiss it and mark it as safe.

Invite others to join a conversation

Lastly, the company is also making it easier for users to invite other users to join an existing conversation. LinkedIn says that while a new person will be added to the conversation, the original conversation history will remain private.

How to use it: From your existing conversation go to the top right-hand corner > click “new group chat” option > add others to join.
