Microsoft Outlook to get new features after Gmail redesign
Microsoft Outlook’s new features will be rolled out this week.
Microsoft is geared to unveil a slew of new features for its email service, Outlook. New features will be rolled out the desktop version of Outlook on Mac and Windows, and also its Android and iOS apps this week.
The software giant's new Outlook features are primarily aimed at business customers -- an area that its traditional Outlook desktop apps for Windows and macOS specialise in. Microsoft will add new features like bill pay reminders received in an email, The Verge reported.
Among the new changes, Microsoft will also start syncing draft emails for its mobile app and desktop. This way users will be able to finish composing their emails from a phone and then on their PC. This feature is already available for Outlook app for Android, and will be now available for iOS as well.
Microsoft is also adding a better support for the emails which would allow users to reply to an email where they were in the "BCC" field.
Notably, this comes soon after Google started rolling out a revamped design for Gmail. Google unveiled a new Gmail design last week, giving a facelift to its free email service with new features and a fresh look.
