Microsoft is all set to host its Surface Hardware event for 2021. The virtual event is all set to take place tonight, September 22. To recall, the last Surface device Microsoft launched was the Surface Laptop 4. It was unveiled back in April this year. Moreover, Windows 11 is just around the corner as well. It will start rolling out on October 5, which is another big reason to get excited about the Microsoft Surface event 2021. The highlight of the show could well be the unveiling of the much-awaited Microsoft Surface Pro 8. Here's what all you can expect from the event.

Hence, enhancing the versatility of the device. The Surface Pro 8 could come equipped with as many as two Thunderbolt ports. The addition of Thunderbolt port would be a major boost for the Surface Pro line.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 8 could be powered by 11th-gen Intel Core processors. It is likely to feature a 13-inch display that is said to have support for a 120Hz refresh rate -- a first for the Surface Pro series. Moreover, the upcoming Surface Pro 8 could have dual Thunderbolt interfaces, and replaceable SSDs which we've seen on the Surface Pro X and Surface Laptop line previously. Plus, the device is expected to run Windows 11 out of the box.

A new Microsoft Surface Pro X

Microsoft is expected to announce the sequel of its Surface Pro X. The first-gen product was launched in 2019 and it is badly in need of a refresh. Recently, Energy Star Certification for a new Surface Pro X device was issued, listing a "Date Available On Market" as September 7, 2021. Therefore, we can speculate Microsoft to launch a new Surface Pro X at its event tonight.

Microsoft Surface Go 3

The smaller and compact Surface Go is due for a refresh as well. The 10-inch Microsoft tablet is expected to make its way to the Surface event. The Surface Go series is not meant to compete with a full-fat operating system running on a beefier laptop as it aims to take on the best Chromebooks in the market. When compared to the latter, the Microsoft Surface Go lineup does run a full-fledged operating system with the presence of Windows 10.

Microsoft Surface Book 4

Another possible reveal could be of the Surface Book 4 -- a premium 2-in-1 laptop. The last Surface Book was released in May 2020. The new Surface Book could be powered by the Intel 11th-generation Tiger Lake processors, which will be needed to compete with the likes of Lenovo, Asus and Dell.

Microsoft Surface Duo 2

The foldable Microsoft smartphone that runs Android is due for a refresh as well. We expect the company to showcase its Surface Duo 2 at the event tonight. The smartphone has already appeared on FCC listings that kind of confirm that the Surface Duo 2 is coming. It could feature a more powerful processor and we hope Microsoft has found a way to implement its ideas in a better way on the software front.
