Users may well be desperately looking forward to the planned Microsoft Windows 11 version 21H2 being rolled out in the coming weeks, considering the fact that they have been struggling with a number of problems, or "issues". Microsoft is not defending the issues that have been troubling users and is looking at solving these bugs with updates. Also, Microsoft has confirmed two new issues in the operating system - Windows 11 Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) and Microsoft Installer (MSI) failure.

The company has identified the Windows 11 Blue Screen of Death bug. It said that the problem has to do with issues on the Intel Smart Sound Technology (SST) drivers. However, This Windows 11 bug is not affecting all users. It is affecting only those users who have certain Intel SST driver versions. It might cause a crash that throws up the dreaded Blue Screen of Death on the display. Those Windows 11 drivers that have been severely affected by the Blue Screen of Death issue are Intel Smart Sound Technology (Intel SST) versions 10.29.0.5152 and earlier 10.30.0.5152, Microsoft mentioned.

Is there any solution for the Blue Screen of Death error?

Microsoft and Intel are collaborating on a new version of compatible drivers with Windows 11 and has halted the upgrade process on these PCs. What Microsoft advised customers is to update their drivers. If the company does not provide the driver update, you can manually install it from the official website of Intel.

“We recommend that you do not attempt to manually upgrade using the Update now button or the Media Creation Tool until this issue has been resolved,” Microsoft said in a statement. The best way forward for users is to update their drivers. All they have to do is check if the Intel Smart Sound Technology system is installed by going directly to Device Manager tab and then System tab. If you see it download it. This will bring an end to the Windows 11 Blue screen of Death problem.

Microsoft Installer failure hack

In addition to the Blue Screen of Death error, Windows 11 is suffering from another issue which stops users from updating or repairing certain apps, including apps from Kaspersky while using Microsoft Installer - the glitch rears its head during the installation process. If your Windows 11 is dealing with MSI, then some of your apps might fail to open, update or repair.

What solution does it have then? Microsoft says that the users who are facing issues with MSI would need to manually uninstall the apps which are getting affected with the bug and then install the latest version.

So, the big takeaway for users is that Windows 11 may be a swanky upgrade of Windows 10, but crash issues and other bugs have not gone away and must be dealt with by users themselves - seems so like yesterday (going back decades), no?
