Apple skipped the 'S' generation for iPhone 7 last year and moved straight to iPhone 8 series and iPhone X. This year Apple is expected to launch three new iPhones with the 5.8-inch OLED model dubbed 'iPhone XS'. The bigger 6.5-inch OLED iPhone will reportedly be called 'iPhone XS Max'.

Earlier reports and leaks suggested that Apple would be naming the bigger version as iPhone XS Plus. This has been the nomenclature with previous iPhone models like iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 8 Plus. Apple releases two variants of one iPhone model with bigger displays, battery and storage options. This year, the OLED iPhones will possibly be called iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, according to a new report by 9to5mac. There is no word on the possible naming of the LCD iPhone.

iPhone XS
Apple's new iPhone XS models are expected to come with OLED displays featuring the same design as the iPhone X. An exclusive leak for the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max showed a new gold colour variant. Design elements will possibly remain the same while internals will receive upgrades.

The 2018 iPhones are expected to be powered by Apple's new A12 processor paired with 4GB of RAM. The unreleased A12 processor will likely be 7nm-based joining Huawei's Kirin 980 SoC which was recently unveiled at IFA 2018. Apple is also rumoured to finally include dual-SIM functionality on this year's iPhones. This functionality will however be exclusive to select regions.

iPhone XS Max is also said to have a bigger battery than the 5.8-inch iPhone XS. In terms of pricing, Apple could continue with the $1000 mark for the iPhone XS Max. The smaller iPhone XS will reportedly carry a price tag of $800 (57,000 approximately).

LCD iPhone
Apple's affordable version of an iPhone this year will come with a LCD display wrapped in an aluminium body. This iPhone model will most likely have a single rear camera but have iPhone X features like Face ID integration and gesture-based controls. The LCD iPhone will be offered in new colours but not the new gold colour. According to reports, this low-end 'iPhone X' is said to be priced at $700 which translates roughly to 50,000.
