OnePlus 6T: Meet Oppo R17 Pro, the reference phone for OnePlus’ new flagship
OnePlus 6T is said to look much like the Oppo R17 Pro, featuring a waterdrop notch and a vertically aligned triple-camera setup.
If you've been waiting for all new OnePlus 6T, you can have an idea of what the smartphone will look like. According to reports and leaks, the design changes on OnePlus 6T are very similar or almost the same as Oppo's R17 Pro smartphone.
Oppo R17 Pro comes with a waterdrop notch, a design first seen on the Essential Phone but which failed to take off as expected. The possibility seems very likely considering the trend of OnePlus following the design language of Oppo's R-series smartphones. Also, both Oppo and OnePlus are under the same parent company, BBK Electronics in China.
OnePlus 6 already has a notch which houses the selfie camera and a noise-cancelling microphone. The tiny notch on OnePlus 6T will be curvier and tinier in the shape of a waterdrop. With a smaller notch, the smartphone's bottom bezel will possibly be thinner too.
In addition to the new notch, OnePlus 6T is also rumoured to feature a triple-camera setup like the Oppo R17 Pro. The triple-camera setup will be placed vertically at the rear panel. In terms of specifications, Oppo R17 Pro features a 12-megapixel, 20-megapixel and a TOF 3D stereo camera setup.
Overall, OnePlus 6T looks a lot like its predecessor. Under the hood, the specifications will more or less remain the same. OnePlus, however, could make some improvements in the battery department.
OnePlus 6 comes with flagship specifications running the latest Snapdragon 845 processor paired with 6GB of RAM and storage options up to 256GB.
It also has a full HD+ 6.28-inch Optic AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top. it's dual-camera setup features Sony IMX sensors. On the software front, it runs OxygenOS based on Android 8.1 Oreo. The smartphone is also in line to receive stable Android 9 Pie OS with the beta version currently available for download.
