OnePlus launch event today; company to roll out Nord CE 2 5G and more

OnePlus is all set to launch the Nord CE 2 5G and the OnePlus TV Y1S and Y1S Edge at its launch event today.

OnePlus is set to launch the Nord CE 2 5G and the OnePlus TV Y1S and Y1S Edge at the ‘A OnePlus Double Feature' event today. The event is expected to be one of OnePlus' biggest this year. The OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G smartphone is the successor to last year's OnePlus Nord CE. Even though OnePlus has been selectively giving out details about these products that they are launching today, a full reveal is awaited. Here's a sneak peek into what we can expect at the double feature launch event.

OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G

The OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G is set to bring a seamless and burden less user experience for OnePlus fans. The materials and craftsmanship have been refined to create a product that not only looks sleek, but is also comfortable to hold in the hands. The design was zero-ed in on after experimenting with more than 20 design ideas and four rounds of trial production, says OnePlus. What emerged were two colour variants – Bahama Blue and Gray Mirror, with a glossy back.

Though a majority of the features are yet to be revealed, we have gathered a few details about the OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G. This smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 900 chipset that OnePlus promises will offer power-packed features and deliver good performance. The 64MP AI Triple Camera with an AI Backlit video function promises great pictures and share-ready videos.

It also comes with the 65W SuperVOOC fast charging that allows you to charge the smartphone with up to a day's power within 15 minutes. With a 3.5 mm headphone jack, it also brings the convenience of plug-and-play for wired headphones. There's also an expandable storage option available.

OnePlus TV Y1S and Y1S Edge

An extension to the OnePlus TV Y Series, these new smart TVs have an immersive display and a ‘boundless viewing experience' which OnePlus says is due to its signature bezel-less design. This means that even physically, the TV does not have a boundary or border, lending it a sleek and minimalistic look.

On the performance front, both the models have a Gamma engine which promises crystal clear content with vibrant coloured and dynamic contrast.

The OnePlus Connect 2.0 enables many smart features along with seamless connectivity to a smartphone, for example, doubling up the phone as a remote control too. The TV can be paired with up to five devices at the same time.

The OnePlus Connect app also has features like smart volume control that automatically reduces the volume of the TV when you get a call, and returns to the set volume when the call ends. All of this comes at a price that is very affordable.
