Qualcomm's next generation flagship chipset, Snapdragon 898, is expected to make a debut by December 2021. Ahead of the official launch of the Snapdragon 888 successor, which typically happens in November-December every year, benchmark scores of the upcoming processor have leaked. And now, a new report talks about the companies that are expected to launch Snapdragon 898-powered smartphones in the market first.

According to a report by noted tipster Digital Chat Station, both Xiaomi and Motorola are gearing to launch smartphones powered by the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 system-on-chip in the market before anyone. “I still remember that Moto first released Qualcomm's sub-flagship processor Snapdragon 870 at the beginning of this year. Now the progress of all new Snapdragon 898 machines has advanced,” Digital Chat Station wrote in a tweet, adding, “Moto's Snapdragon 898 machine is also confirmed to debut at the end of the year. It is said that they are still preparing to cooperate with Xiaomi grabs the start…,” in a subsequent post.

Meanwhile, another tipster, IceUniverse, has shared the Geekbench scores of the upcoming Snapdragon 898 chipset. These benchmark scores reveal that the Snapdragon 898, which is expected to be made using the 4nm process, is expected to be about 15% more efficient than the Snapdragon 888 SoC and about 5% better than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ SoC.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 expected specs

As far as the expected specs are concerned, the Snapdragon 898 is expected to feature a Prime core based on the ARM Cortex-X2 architecture along with three ARM Cortex-A710 based mid-cores that are clocked at 2.5 GHz. In addition to that, it is expected to feature four efficient ARM Cortex-A510 cores that are clocked at up to 1.79 GHz. The exact specifications of the Snapdragon 898 are expected to be revealed when it is launched later this year.
