Retailers start taking iPhone 6S pre-orders in India

Just a few days after pricing for the iPhone 6S in India was revealed, retailers across the country have started taking pre-orders for Apple’s latest iPhone, which will be available in India on October 16.

Just a few days after pricing for the iPhone 6S in India was revealed, retailers across the country have started taking pre-orders for Apple's latest iPhone, which will be available in India on October 16.

The MobileStore, India's largest mobile phone retail chain wih over 800 outlets, told the Times of India that it has started accepting pre-orders for the phone for 2,000, and will continue taking pre-orders till October 13.

"The iPhone 6S 64GB variant is the most popular one as of now," told Satish Babu, founder of Chennai-based UniverCell Mobiles, to the Times, adding that he had received about a hundred orders in 24 hours.

If you want an iPhone 6S, be prepared to cough up a hefty chunk of cash. Pricing starts at 62,000 for the lowest end iPhone 6S, which comes in at 16 GB, and goes all the way up to 92,000 for the 128 GB iPhone 6S Plus, according to a scoop by PriceBaba.com. Apple has yet to announce official pricing for the new iPhones in India.
