Though it has become a significant part of life, people sometimes need to take a break from it. Keeping its users' comfort in view, the platform allows them to deactivate or delete Facebook accounts permanently.

However, it must be noted that once the account is deleted, it can be retrieved for up to 30 days only. If you're willing to delete your Facebook account, you can do it either through the mobile apps on Android and iOS or through a Web browser. Here are simple and easy steps to do so.

How To Delete Facebook Account Via Mobile App (Android or iOS) :

Step 1: Open your smartphone and go to the Facebook app.

Step 2: Once your Facebook app is opened, click on the hamburger icon on the top-right corner.

Step 3: Scroll down the page and tap on ‘Settings & Privacy'.

Step 4: Go to Settings and click on ‘Personal and Account Information'.

Step 5: Next, click on ‘Profile Access and Control' under the ‘Account Ownership and Control' tab

Step 6: You will find a tab for ‘Deactivation and deletion'. Select ‘Delete account' and continue.

Step 7: Facebook will ask you to select any reason for account deactivation. You can choose whatever you want from the dropdown menu and click on ‘Continue to account deletion'.

Step 8: Select ‘Delete Account,' and it's done.

How To Delete Facebook Account Via Desktop

Step 1: First, you will need to log in to your Facebook account through any internet browser.

Step 2: Once you successfully log in, tap on the downwards arrow on the top right corner.

Step 3: Now, go to ‘Settings & Privacy’ and click on ‘Settings’.

Step 4: Next, go to ‘Your Facebook Information’ and click on ‘Privacy’ and then ‘Your Facebook Information’.

Step 5: You’ll be required to click on the tab for ‘Deactivation and Deletion’.

Step 6: Select ‘Delete account’ and go to ‘Continue to account deletion’.

Step 7: Click on ‘Delete account’ and submit your password to verify and complete the deletion.
