However, the site is back now and functioning normally. Twitter itself acknowledged the fault in a post on Twitter. The outage was mostly confined to the US. However, some users are still reporting problems including of not being able to log in, but they are very few in number. On Downdetector, a website that tracks outages, a Twitter user going under the name of "disqus_267xLPlTv6" posted this message an hour ago, "Is anyone else getting the "Enter Your Phone Number" message when trying to log in? This just started today for me." Another person known simply as "hn" posted this message, also about an hour ago, "i cant login on my pc web, does anyone has the same issue?" Also read click here. However, the latest status provided by Downdetector website says "User reports indicate no current problems at Twitter." The Verge, on Friday, had revealed that Twitter was down for a while. It reported that the issue was faced by Midwestern cities, including Michigan. Twitter itself reacted by posting this message, "Some of you may have experienced an issue loading Twitter just now. This has been fixed. Thanks for sticking with us!" > Some of you may have experienced an issue loading Twitter just now. This has been fixed. Thanks for sticking with us!— Twitter Support (@TwitterSupport) August 27, 2021 The problem first surfaced on Friday morning in the US just before 8 AM, but by 9 AM, it seems to have been sorted. In between, reports of the outage by users crossed the 13,000 mark on Downdetector with most facing problems on the Web. Also affected were iPhone, iPad and Android users.
