WhatsApp is one of the most popular messaging apps in the world. It has dozens of features that not only give users multiple ways to express their thoughts and emotions but also the flexibility to reply in a way that they would prefer.

In addition to that, it has security features that enable users to reveal exactly the information that they want to reveal while ensuring that these conversations remain secure both physically and in the virtual world.

So, we bring to you a list of features that all WhatsApp users must know about:

Group Invitation

Let's admit it, not all of us wanted to be a part of all the groups that we are in. Thankfully, WhatsApp has a feature that enables users to streamline this feature by letting them pick the group that they want to join. This happens in the form of group invitations that users can accept or reject at their will.

Here's how to enable it: Settings > Account > Privacy > Groups > select My Contacts or My Contacts Except or Nobody.

Biometric lock

This feature adds another layer of security to WhatsApp chats by enabling a biometric authentication system for the app based on the phone that they are using. This means users can either set Face ID or fingerprint scanner for the same.

Here's how to enable it: Settings > Account > Privacy > Screen Lock > toggle Require Face ID.

Starred Messages

Starred messages are one of the easiest ways using which users can highlight messages that they want to save separately or recall frequently. To star a message long press on the specific message and click on the Star button.

How to access starred messages: Settings > Starred Messages.

WhatsApp Group Calls

Video calls with family and friends have become the new norm. WhatsApp, earlier, allowed up to four users to participate in a group call. Now, this limit has been increased to eight users.

Reply Privately

WhatsApp has a feature that enables users in a group to reply to a message privately. On replying to a message privately in a group chat, users are directed to their individual chat window where they can continue their conversation without letting other people in the group know about the same.

Here's how you use it: long press on a message > reply privately > type the message > hit Send.
