Samsung to name its next TWS ‘Galaxy Buds Pro’
Samsung's next TWS will reportedly carry the name ‘Galaxy Buds Pro’ and not ‘Galaxy Buds Beyond’ as rumoured earlier.
Samsung is expected to launch its new Galaxy Buds alongside the Galaxy S21 series in January, 2021. Samsung has been sticking to the ‘Galaxy Buds' moniker but adding a ‘+' and ‘Live' for the new models. The next version of Samsung's TWS will reportedly be called ‘Galaxy Buds Pro'.
The wireless earbuds were spotted on the Indonesian Telecom Certification site with this name and model number SM-R190, according to a report by GSMArena. The wireless earbuds have been certified by China's 3C and Korea's NRRA as well. The name is something new because previous reports suggested it would be called Galaxy Buds Beyond. Pro or Beyond, we know the TWS will be Galaxy Buds “something.”
The new Galaxy Buds is said to be an upgrade over the Galaxy Buds+ and not the Galaxy Buds Live. The wireless earbuds will feature an in-ear design similar to the Galaxy Buds+. Samsung is also said to improve Ambient mode in its new TWS, and possibly add active noise cancellation (ANC) as well. Galaxy Buds Pro has also been spotted with a 472mAh battery which is the same as the Galaxy Buds Live.
It looks like the upgrades will be mostly under the hood for the new Galaxy Buds. Samsung could maybe tweak the design a little bit but it will probably look the same.
In addition to the Galaxy Buds Pro, Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+ and Galaxy S21 Ultra on January 14, 2021. This is a month earlier than when Samsung usually launches it Galaxy S flagship series.
