After crackdown by India, BGMI rushes to change location of controversial servers, says report

Here is an update for the players of Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI). They may soon be able to play BGMI again! As per the latest updates, Krafton is changing the location of Battlegrounds Mobile India Servers. It can be known that the Indian Government had banned BGMI due to suspected privacy breach. The game was removed from Google Play Store and Apple's App store to stop further downloads. And now according to Insidesport, BGMI servers are changing from India-Singapore to India-Malaysia. The news of data migration has given a boost to speculation that the ban by India may get lifted soon.

It can be known that ever since the news of data migration in BGMI started circulating, the likely date of the return of the title is increasingly being speculated about. "All these speculations picked up pace when many fans started facing an “account migration” prompt upon searching for specific player IDs in BGMI," Insidesport said in the report.

As per the report, many players have observed that specific player IDs are not coming up in the in-game search results, however, those IDs are visible in the ranking table when gamers browse in the in-game search box. A migration notice has been seen coming up saying, ” The player you are viewing has migrated to Battlegrounds Mobile India,” according to the report by Insidesport.

What needs to be noted is that there is no official information or statement from Krafton regarding BGMI returning to India. However, the company is trying its best to bring the game back to the country.

About BGMI ban in India

BGMI was one of the most popular BR games in India and was banned by the Indian government under the Section 69(A) of IT Act. Krafton Inc., the makers of BGMI were given a timeline of 14 days by the government to prove their innocence. The developers are in the process of providing the evidence to clear the data privacy issues and its links with China.
