Lenovo launches new gaming laptops, accessories at CES 2021

Lenovo says that these new Legion gaming laptops will go on sale in the first quarter of 2021.

Lenovo on Wednesday launched a bunch of new gaming laptops on the sidelines of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2021 that is being held virtually this year in wake of the pandemic. The list includes the Lenovo 7, the Lenovo Legion Slim 7, the Lenovo Legion 5 and the Lenovo Legion 5 Pro laptops.

All of these four laptops are powered by AMD's Ryzen 5000 H-series mobile processors and NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 3000-series GPUs. Additionally, they have Lenovo Legion AI Engine technology, Microsoft Xbox Game Pass for PC, Coldfront 3.0 thermal management technology and Nahimic audio among other things.

Lenovo says that these new Legion gaming laptops will go on sale in the first quarter of 2021.

Lenovo Legion 7

As far as the details are concerned, the Lenovo Legion 7 comes with a 16-inch 165Hz IPS display with an aspect ratio of 16:10 and a resolution of 2560x1600 pixels. It features 100% sRGB color accuracy and a 90% screen-to-body ratio. It is made of aerospace-grade aluminium and it comes with an e-shutter for privacy that allows users to cut off power to the webcam with a 720p resolution.

It has the AMD Ryzen 9 5900H mobile processor in the core that is coupled with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 GPU. It has the Lenovo Legion AI Engine, which as per the company optimises system performance via machine learning to deliver the highest possible frame rates. It also features the Legion TrueStrike Keyboard that has been customised to deliver deeper strokes. Lenovo says that the full-sized keyboard with number pad is also illuminated in over 16 million colours via Corsair iCUE support with a glass trackpad that is 23% larger than previous generations. It also has the Coldfront 3.0 thermal management system that features turbo-charged dual-fans and quad-channel exhausts with vapour chamber technology, which helps to dissipate heat rapidly. Additionally, it features Nahimic audio technology that provides a 3D audio experience.

Lenovo Legion Slim 7

This laptop comes with a 15.6-inch 144Hz IPS display with a resolution of 1080p, 100% Adobe RGB colour gamut IPS display and Dolby Vision. It is powered by up to the latest AMD Ryzen 9 5900H mobile processors and up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 with Max-Q Design GPUs. It comes in a Magnesium-cum-Aluminum chassis in the Shadow Black colour variant.

Like other newly launched Legion laptops, the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 laptop comes with AI Engine, Coldfront 3.0 thermal management and Nahimic Audio technologies. It also features the Legion TrueStrike Keyboard with a large glass touchpad. It features a physical shutter for the webcam and it features a fingerprint sensor that is integrated into the power button. 

Lenovo Legion 5 Pro

The Lenovo Legion 5 Pro comes with a 16-inch quad HD display with an aspect ratio of 16:10 and a 2560x1600 resolution. It is powered by AMD Ryzen 9 5800H mobile processors and up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 GPUs. It also has Lenovo AI Engine and Coldfront 3.0 thermal management and the Legion TrueStrike Keyboard with soft-landing switches. It has Nahimic Audio for immersive 3D audio, Type-C port for charging, an e-shutter webcam for enhanced privacy and Intel Wi-Fi 6. 

Lenovo Legion 5

Last but not the least, the Lenovo Legion 5 laptop. It is available in 15-inch or 17-inch sizes and Phantom Blue or Stingray White. It is powered by AMD Ryzen 9 5800H mobile processors and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 GPUs. It features a 1080p resolution with an aspect ratio of 16:9. The 17-inch variant comes with a 144Hz display. Like other Legion laptops that have been launched at CES 2021, the Lenovo Legion 5 comes with AI Engine, Coldfront 3.0 thermal management technology with Legion TrueStrike Keyboard and Nahimic Audio. It also has a Type-C port for charging, e-shutter webcam for enhanced privacy and Intel Wi-Fi 6. 

Lenovo Legion S600 Gaming Station and H600 Wireless Gaming Headset

In addition to the Lenovo Legion laptop, the company also launched the Lenovo Legion S600 Gaming Station. It features hang-to-charge technology for the new Lenovo Legion H600 Wireless Gaming Headset and a Qi-enabled base that charges compatible smartphones (up to 10W output) and other supported devices such as wireless gaming mice.

It weighs just 919 grams and features two USB-A pass-through ports on the bottom for high-speed connectivity and device charging.

The Lenovo Legion H600 Wireless Gaming Headset, on the other hand, sports a 2.4GHz lossless wireless receiver with a receiving distance of up to 12m and latency of under 35ms.

Lastly, the company launched the Lenovo Legion H600 Wireless Gaming Headset. It comes with 50mm audio drivers and its unidirectional noise-cancellation microphone provides flip-to-mute feature and crisp communication. All of these devices will be available in the first quarter of the year.
