Reliance Jio announces JioMart Gameathon esports tournament
JioMart Gameathon will start on October 30 and continue till November 1. The esports tournament has a prize pool of ₹25,000.
Reliance Jio is hosting its first esports event this month. JioMart Gameathon Free Fire esports tournament is scheduled for October 30, and it will continue till November 1. Jio is hosting the esports event under its JioGames platform which was announced last year during Reliance Jio's 42nd Annual General Meeting.
The JioMart Gameathon page is live on JioGames, and interested players can register for it now. The esports tournament will feature 567 teams in total with four rounds - qualifier stage, quarter finals, semi finals, grand finale. There will be two qualifier stages taking place on October 30 and 31. The number of teams will digress as the stages go up starting with 567 teams, then 96 teams for quarter finals and 24 teams in semi finals. There will be 12 teams in the grand finale.
Lobbies for the game will be hosted by JioGames, and team leaders will be notified before the start of the game. Each member will have to use their own gamer tags or IDs, and have the latest version of the game. JioGames will disable gun properties, and use of emulators aren't allowed in the event. JioGames has also warned that players will be responsible for any lag or FPS drop during the match.
The prize pool for the JioMart Gameathon is ₹25,000. The winning team will get ₹16,000, while the runner-up team gets ₹8,000. There's also a Most Valuable Player (MVP) award of ₹1,000. Also, the prize money will be credited to the players' JioMart wallet.
