However, it is not difficult to access the latest Windows 11 features. Here's what you'll need to do before you can upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11 Home.

1. Create a Microsoft account

To set up Windows 11, you will need to have a Microsoft account. It is free to create one and it isn't a difficult process. To recall, in the past it wasn't necessary to create a Microsoft account. A Microsoft account will also allow a user to easily transfer from their old PC to a new one, and more options for signing in. Here's how you can create a new account:

Step 1. Go to account.microsoft.com, and click Sign in.

Step 2. Tap Create one to make a new account. (You can sign in if you already have an account.)

Step 3. Enter your email address.

Step 4. Create a password, and click Next.

Step 5. Enter your country/region and date of birth, and click Next.

Step 6. Check your email for a verification code, and click Next. Done!

2. Connect to the internet

The past versions of Windows would let you set up the OS without connecting to the internet. However, Windows 11 will require you to stay connected to the internet. You'll also need the internet to perform future updates as well. This requirement may pose a problem for those who lack easy internet access. However, once connected for the initial setup, you won't be required to connect again.
