OnePlus Nord: Price in India, specifications, everything else you need to know
OnePlus will be making a debut in the budget smartphone segment with the launch of the OnePlus Nord tonight. Here's everything we know about the phone so far.
It's happening tonight! OnePlus is all set to foray into the budget smartphone category by launching the OnePlus Nord tonight.
The launch event will begin at 7:30PM IST. Ahead of the official launch event, the company has rolled out a special app on Google's Play Store and Apple's App Store to enable fans and enthusiasts to experience the launch event using augmented reality. In addition to the AR app, the company will also be live streaming the event via its official website. We will also be converting the event extensively, so stay tuned for updates.
OnePlus Nord expected price and availability
As mentioned before, OnePlus will be making a debut in the budget smartphone segment with the launch of the OnePlus Nord. The phone will be available only in the European market and in India. The company has already confirmed that it won't be launching the phone in North America for now.
Talking about the price, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has already confirmed the OnePlus Nord will be priced under $500 ( ₹37,320 approximately) in the EU. “Nord will be our first product below $500 in recent years...For OnePlus and the whole team, it's a massive challenge,” Lau had said in the first episode of the documentary by the company last month.
A Romanian retailer EvoMag has listed the 8GB + 128GB variant of the OnePlus Nord at a price of RON 2,232 ( ₹39,414 approximately). Other reports hint towards the phone being available in three variants -- 6GB + 128GB, which is likely to be priced at around ₹24,999, 8GB + 128GB, which is expected to be launched at ₹27,999, and a 12GB + 256GB variant that is expected to be available at a price of ₹30,999.
OnePlus Nord design and specs
OnePlus has already given us a glimpse of its upcoming budget smartphone. The company has been extensively teasing details about the OnePlus Nord smartphone via its social media channels. In a 1:25-minute long video shared on Instagram, the company showed us how the phone would look like. The video hints towards the phone getting a large display with an in-display fingerprint sensor. The phone has thin bezels on the sides and a dual camera setup in the front. At the back, the phone has a vertically stacked quad-rear camera setup. The overall design seems to be a mix of glass and design that gives the phone a more premium appeal.
Talking about the specification, OnePlus has already confirmed that the OnePlus Nord will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SoC and that the phone will come with a dual camera setup in the front.
Beyond that, tipster Evan Blass recently shared the full specs sheet of the OnePlus Nord smartphone, which hints towards the phone getting a 6.55-inch AMOLED full HD+ display. In addition to that the phone is tipped to get a quad-rear camera setup consisting of a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 primary sensor, an 8-megapixel secondary sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens, a 5-megapixel depth sensor, and a 2-megapixel sensor macro sensor. On the front, the phone is expected to get a 32-megapixel sensor and an 8-megapixel sensor with a wide-angle lens. On the battery front, the OnePlus Nord is expected to get a 4115mAh battery.
