Expandable Memory
While the X4 Pro featured a hybrid microSD slot, the X5 Pro completely removed expandable storage. For a series that targets power users and gamers, losing the ability to swap cards is a significant blow.
Operating System
Both devices were launched with older versions of Android (11 and 12 respectively). In 2026, these phones are reaching the end of their official security patch cycles, making them harder to recommend as long-term purchases today.
Is the Upgrade Really Worth It?
if you felt the X4 Pro was sluggish. The X5 Pro was a "corrective" release that brought back high-tier performance with the Snapdragon 778G. It is significantly better for gaming (BGMI/Genshin), supports 4K video recording (which the X4 Pro lacks), and is much more comfortable to hold due to the 24g weight reduction.
if you value premium build and expandable storage. The X4 Pro’s glass back and microSD slot are features you lose on the X5 Pro. Since both share the same charging speed and similar screen quality, the X4 Pro remains a perfectly capable "daily driver" for non-gamers.
