Aadhaar-PAN Card Link Online: The State Bank of India (SBI) has issued a notice to all its customers. In its notice, the bank is asking its account holders to link their PAN and Aadhaar by June 30. The bank has said if its customers fail to do so, they are likely to face difficulty in using its banking services. SBI has shared a message regarding the same demand on Twitter. “We advise our customers to link their PAN with Aadhaar to avoid any inconvenience and continue enjoying a seamless banking service,” SBI wrote in a post via its official Twitter handle. In the same post, the bank said that if not linked, PAN will be rendered inactive. Once that happens, users will no longer be able to ‘quote it for specific transactions'.

PAN is a mandatory document that is required for a host of financial transactions including opening bank accounts, making large cash deposits and opening Demat accounts among other things. Linking Aadhaar with PAN card is considered important for the purpose of tax administration. The government first introduced Aadhaar-PAN card linking process way back in 2017. Since then, it has extended the deadline to link the two identity numbers several times, the latest one being June 30.
Here's how you can do your Aadhaar-PAN card linking online:
Step 1: Open Income-Tax department's e-filing portal: http://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/ on your gadget.
Step 2: Go to the ‘Link Aadhaar' option in the ‘Quick Links' section of the website.
Step 3: Fill the form that opens. Add details, which includes your PAN number, Aadhaar number, your name as per the Aadhaar card and your mobile number.
Step 4: Check 'I agree to validate my Aadhaar details with UIDAI' box. Check the 'I have only year of birth in Aadhaar Card' box if it is valid for you.
Step 5: Enter the captcha code.
Step 6: Click on ‘Link Aadhaar button and you have done the Aadhaar-PAN card linking online.
