Just in 2022, we have seen many movies break the regional language barrier and garner not only nationwide but international success. Movies like RRR and KGF Chapter 2 have become some of the highest grossing films of all time for India. Yet one of the surprise hits of this year became the Telugu-language period romantic drama film Sita Ramam. And after its successful theatrical run, it is now aiming for its OTT release. But what makes this movie so special and where can one watch it? Read on to find out. ## Sita Ramam set for OTT release The movie released to theaters on August 5 and even with a good cast, it wasn’t anticipated to be a big hit. But the movie quickly spread through word-of-mouth after a decent day one viewership and soon it began selling out cinemas. The movie has been acclaimed for the chemistry between the lead actors, stunning cinematography, memorable dialogues and strong performances by the supporting actors. And in the end, the movie has grossed Rs. 92.52 crores worldwide at the box office. And all this at a time when romantic movies were being considered a dying genre by critics. What keeps this movie alive, however, is a simple yet emotionally-rich storytelling and a cast that does justice to the roles. The movie is set in the 1980s and follows Afreen, a Pakistan-based London resident who has been tasked to deliver the last letter of Ram to Sita in India’s Hyderabad. The letter and the journey takes her back to the events of the 1960s where a mysterious love story was building between the two. The movie stars Dulquer Salmaan, Mrunal Thakur, Rashmika Mandanna, Sumanth and others. Also read click here. If you are interested in watching the movie, you do not need to wait as it is already out on OTT. You can watch the movie on Amazon Prime Videos right now, as long as you have a subscription. If you don’t, you can buy a one-month subscription for Rs. 179. You will also get all the other benefits of Amazon Prime subscription.
