After Fleets, Twitter might be working on tweet reactions

While Fleet has drawn mixed reactions so far, Twitter seems to be working on a feature that will let you react to tweets with emojis and Fleets.

Twitter just launched Fleets. If you have not seen it yet or tried it yet, you must be living under a rock because it's all over Twitter, literally. Fleets is Twitter's version of Instagram stories which follows a vertical scroll format instead of a horizontal one like you see on Instagram and Facebook Stories.

The core principle is the same though, you share a ‘fleeting' thought that disappears in 24 hours.

Currently, you can react to other people's Fleets with emoji reactions which they can check in their Twitter DMs. You can only check exactly which Fleet of yours someone has reacted to when you check your Twitter DMs on your phone. The detailed feature has not been rolled out to Twitter on desktop yet.

While Fleet has drawn mixed reactions so far, Twitter seems to be working on a feature that will let you react to tweets with emojis and Fleets.

Spotted by Jane Manchun Wong, who has known for her social media leaks, Twitter might be moving towards a more interactive timeline.

The screenshot Wong shared shows that you can retweet a tweet, retweet a tweet with comment (two features that are already there) followed by an emoji sign that will let you pick an emoji to react to a tweet and a fourth option to react with a Fleet.

Presumably, if you react with a Fleet, your fleet will carry the tweet in question along with your reaction that can now be in words, emojis or a GIF. This might possibly work the way Instagram Stories do when you share a post as a story be it from your account or anyone else's.

On Instagram, when you share someone's post as a story, you have the option of checking the original post out by clicking on the post inside the story. At this point it is not clear if Twitter will incorporate something like this.

Wong is usually spot on with her leaks so it's probably just a matter of time till Twitter rolls this feature out.
