It’s official! WhatsApp has announced to bring emoji reactions for its users. And there’s a lot more!
After a long wait and many leaks about the debut of emoji reactions o WhatsApp, it has finally been confirmed! Yes, emoji reactions are coming to your WhatsApp! Head of WhatsApp, Will Cathcart confirmed in a tweet that WhatsApp emoji reactions will make their debut. Although, the announcement was not just about the emoji reactions but also about several other new features such as long-awaited communities, Admin access to delete problematic messages, bigger file sharing, and up to 32 participants on a single audio call.
Well, talking about the emoji reactions, this is something that we all have seen on other social media platforms. Whether it is Facebook reacting to a post with emojis or Instagram and Telegram's messaging reaction with a wide range of your emotions (we meant, emojis!) And now, your daily messaging app is all set to introduce the emoji reactions within your chats which will allow you to reply to a particular message with an emoji.
How WhatsApp emoji reactions will work
The WhatsApp emoji reactions are surely making their way but in a limited manner. WhatsApp head confirmed in the tweet that in the starting stage, WhatsApp emoji reactions will be rolled out with a set of six emojis including, thumbs up, red heart, laughing smiley, shocking emoji, crying emoji and a hi-fi. “Emoji reactions are coming to WhatsApp so people can quickly share their opinion without flooding chats with new messages,” WhatsApp said in a blog post. Well, the good part is there will be more emojis and skin tones for reactions.
More new updates on WhatsApp
As mentioned, WhatsApp has announced a series of new updates that will make their way to you too very soon. One of them is Admin Delete which will allow group admins to remove errant or problematic messages from everyone's chats. Besides that, WhatsApp has increased file-sharing to support files up to 2 gigabytes so that you can easily collaborate on projects. And, you will soon get the one-tap voice calling for up to 32 people in one audio call! And yes, Communities on WhatsApp will enable users to bring separate groups together in one place.
