Amazon India on Wednesday announced a partnership with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited. With this partnership, Amazon customers in India will be able to book and pay for their HP gas cylinder refills.

Customers can go to the Amazon Pay tab on the Amazon India website or the Amazon app to book the cylinder and pay using any digital mode such as UPI, credit cards, debit cards and net-banking.

Customers can book their HP gas cylinder by going to the ‘LPG' category under the Amazon Pay tab or “Pay Bills” tab on the homepage. Customers need to enter their HP gas registered mobile number or the 17-digit LPG ID to get the refill charges against the booking ID. Upon payment, customers will get an SMS confirming payment and will be able to view distributor details on Amazon.in.

Amazon says that customers can also get up to 50 back when they book and pay through Amazon Pay. Additionally, they can repeat the transaction without any need to re-enter the details every month.

Apart from the Amazon app, customers can also book and pay for their HP gas cylinders using voice commands. All they need to say is, “Alexa, book my HP gas cylinder” to their Alexa-enabled devices, which includes the Amazon Echo smart speakers, Fire TV Stick or a third-party speaker with Alexa Built-in. Alexa will retrieve the amount against the registered HP gas mobile number or the LPG ID linked to the Amazon account for existing Amazon Pay users and ask for customer confirmation before processing the payment.
