Amazon launches seller registrations, account management services in Tamil
The Tamil language seller experience is available on Seller Central and the Seller mobile app.
Amazon on Tuesday announced the support for the Tamil language for sellers on the marketplace. The support includes managing orders, inventory management, and accessing performance. Sellers can operate in the Tamil language on the Amazon seller website as well as on the mobile app. To help sellers get started, Amazon has rolled out Seller Support Services and Seller University videos and tutorials in Tamil.
Amazon said that the support for the Tamil language would help more than 43,500 existing sellers on the e-commerce platform. It will also benefit new sellers from tier 1 and below cities such as Chennai, Madurai, Coimbatore, Tiruchirappalli, Salem, Ranipet in Tamil Nadu.
Before the roll-out, the company worked with expert linguists to deliver a better experience in Tamil language, said Amazon in a release. The company added that the team chose commonly used terms over literal translations to make the experience more familiar and authentic.

Amazon had recently launched similar support for sellers in the Hindi language. The company says the seller registrations and account management services in Hindi saw thousands of new Amazon sellers from markets like Darbhanga in Bihar, Barmer in Rajasthan, Mahoba in Uttar Pradesh, Hailakandi in Assam and Bardhaman in West Bengal sign up on the Amazon.in marketplace.
To change the language, Amazon sellers need to access ‘language drop-down' that is available on every page at the top-right corner. On the mobile app, you can change it through the language drop-down menu on the bottom left corner when registering. You can also change the language through the in-app settings menu.
