Amazon Prime Video user profiles now available globally
Amazon has started rolling out user profiles for Prime Video globally. Amazon Prime Video user profiles were first rolled out in select countries including India earlier this March.
Like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video users can now create user profiles and there’s a dedicated kids profile as well. User profiles are really helpful especially if the Prime Video subscription is shared among a group. Each user can have an individual profile so there’s no clash in watching titles, recommendations and more.
Amazon Prime Video supports up to six user profiles out of which one is a default profile and the rest for individuals or kids. The kids profile will be restricted to content for users aged 12 and below. Its search results and suggestions will also be filtered. Parents also have additional controls to restrict adult content in other profiles.
Amazon Prime Video profiles are available on all platforms including its Android and iOS apps, Fire tablet, and Fire TV Prime Video app.
Prime Video profiles can be created from the profile picker section on the app. Users can also manage profiles and remove profiles from this section itself. On Prime Video’s iOS and Android apps, there’s a new ‘My Stuff’ section that appears at the bottom bar. Here, users can tap on the ‘+’ icon to create a new profile.
On the Fire TV app users will be greeted with the profile page when they open Prime Video. Here too, users can tap on the '+' icon to create new profiles.
