Amazon Republic Day sale: Over 10,700 sellers registered their highest single-day sale

Companies under Amazon India's Launchpad program witnessed a growth of 1.12X over average daily sales.

Amazon India hosted the Great Republic Day sale on its platform between January 20 and January 23. Now, the e-retail giant has announced that over 10,700 sellers registered their highest-ever single day sales during the company's recent mega sale.

Amazon India said that close to 88,000 small and medium businesses, artisans, weavers and women entrepreneurs received orders from customers in over 5,000 pin codes across the country. 65% of these sellers were from non-metro cities like Hamirpur in Himachal Pradesh, Tinsukia in Assam, Medak in Telangana, and Rajsamand in Rajasthan.

The e-retailer said that over 10,700 sellers received their highest-ever single day sales during the shopping event. While the artisans and weavers under the company's Amazon Karigar and Saheli program witnessed a growth of 1.2X respectively over their average daily sales, companies under the Launchpad program witnessed a growth of 1.12X over average daily sales.

The company also said that customers from over 700 pin codes across India ordered on Amazon.in from their local shops and neighbourhood stores in their cities. 79 offline stores as part of the Local Shops program on Amazon crossed sales of 1,00,000 during the Great Republic Day Sale.

We will continue to focus our efforts to empower many more sellers across the country and enable them to accelerate their growth in 2021,” Manish Tiwary, Vice President, Amazon India said announcing the news.
