An updated version of the company's latest operating system is already in the works and could appear 'fairly soon.'

That is according to MacRumors. The publication claims that version .1 of iOS 8 has actually been in development for several weeks and when it is pushed out to compatible iPhones, iPads and iPod Touch devices will fix bugs in the Safari browser when playing video and problems with the keyboard failing to appear in some apps, among others.

Since being released to the public on September 18, iOS 8 has been installed by 46 % of iPhone and iPad owners.

However, the new operating system is causing many iDevice owners problems. According to application performance management company Crittercism, who shared its data with BGR, iOS8 has a higher crash rate than iOS7 and that the problem is more pronounced on older iPhones with lower internal specifications.

The iPhone 4S in particular, the oldest smartphone that qualifies for the update has been found to struggle with iOS 8 in its current state and owners have reported sluggish performance since upgrading.
