Asus launches ROG Academy for budding gamers in India: Here are the details

The top six participants will receive admission into the program. They will also receive a stipend of rupees 15,000.

Asus Republic of Gamers (ROG) has announced what it calls is “India's first Virtual Academy program for gamers” - ROG Academy. The company says that as a part of this initiative, it will be identifying PC gamers through a screening process and will provide them a platform to enhance their gaming skills and prepare them for competitive eSports tournaments on a national and global level.

This will in-turn not only make Asus more recognizable brand in India but will also encourage the gaming community in general. So, ROG will be providing tournament ready gaming equipment to gamers with professional mentorship as a part of this initiative.

The year-long program is divided into four sessions as per the quarter and is aimed at strengthening the esports talent pool in India. The teams and players that are shortlisted will go through a selection process.

This will result into six select players who will become a part of three-month long session for first quarter. This will include activities, ranging from skill training to mentorship from coach to teamwork communication, high level concepts, and more.

You can apply in the ROG Academy if you are 16 years of age and above. However, gamers aged between 16 to 18 years would need to provide a consent letter from the parents to participate in the program. 

The registration will start from 1st February will go through 10th. Once the registrations are done, the participants will go through a screening process that will include showing their abilities in open tryouts where they will be judged by the jury.
