Lately, there has been an increased push in the country to develop and adopt products from Indian companies. Mitron and Chingari apps are already being seen as the Indian alternatives to TikTok. And now, a Bengaluru-based startup has launched a web browser that caters to content in various Indic languages.

“There are many browsers available on Google Playstore, but there is not a true Indian browser to address the regional diversity of India and also the needs for 500M+ first time Mobile Internet users in India . We are proud to launch a browser that will provide Indian content in a way that consumers’ desires and to top it all, it’s Indian,” Co-Founder and CEO Dinesh Prasad said in a statement.

Bharat Browser, which has been launched by a Bengaluru-based startup called BlueSky Inventions, is a handy browser based on Android Application. It is lightweight and it weighs just 8.2MB. It is aimed at providing regional content on low cost Android smartphones available in the country.

Just like other browsers that we have been using so far, Bharat Browser lets users play games, check local news, shop, access popular content from 28 states and 8 union territories, access travel information and get sports content.

Users can also watch videos in the Videos Section and play games within the Games section of the app. Additionally, the newly launched browser has a special section dedicated to kids. The Kids section comes with pre-loaded kids videos, kids rhymes, kids shopping and kids games. The company behind Bharat Browser says that the app offers the latest trending news in all the 9 major Indian languages without mentioning the specific languages.

Bharat Browser is available for download on the Google Play Store and so far it has garnered over 500 downloads.
