The story behind Brahmastra is probably even more interesting than the story of the Brahmastra. The movie was conceptualized by Ayan Mukerji in 2011. He wanted to make a movie using elements from history and fantasy, like the stories he heard during his childhood. Initially planned to be released in 2017, the film faced multiple challenges and was delayed due to production delays and monetary constraints. Later it got further delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The movie also underwent changes, with its initial title being Dragon. But finally, in 2022, the action fantasy hit the movie theaters. Brahmastra OTT release

At the time of its release, on September 9, 2022, Brahmastra was the most expensive Hindi film ever made with a total production budget of around Rs. 410 crore. The movie is also renowned for its vivid VFX and CGI effects. As of October 11, the movie has grossed Rs. 431 crore worldwide and has become the highest-grossing Hindi movie of 2022.

The story brings mythology to a modern setting. The story revolves around Shiva who gains magical powers of ‘astras', which was created when a group of sages in the Himalayas collided with the energy called Brahm-shakti. Now Shiva must find the right path and understand his own being with the help of these magical manifestations.

Brahmastra stars Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy, Nagarjuna Akkineni and others in a star-studded cast. It is also reported that two sequels and a spin-off of the movie is already under discussion. If you enjoy fantasy movies and mythologies, then this movie is definitely for you. And if you're not a movie-goer, then you're lucky because this movie is coming right to you.

Although there is no official confirmation at this point, it is reported that Brahmastra will make its OTT release on Disney+ Hotstar on October 23. You will need a subscription to the platform in order to watch the movie. But before you get that subscription, we would recommend waiting for the official announcement.
