One of such apps is Chingari, which recently won the AatmaNirbhar Bharat App Innovation Challenge in the social category. Now, the app has made another stride. It has inked a deal with OTT platform ALT Balaji.

As a part of the partnership, Chingari will introduce a verified page of ALTBalaji through which Chingari users will be able to follow and receive the latest updates from the OTT platform. Apart from getting updates, Chingari users will also gain access to content from the service in the form of Tune Ins, Actors byte, Show Dialogue, songs, Trailers and Promos among others.

In addition to that, the partnership will provide anecdotal information, such as video memes, around past shows like Mentalhood, Coldd Lassi Aur Chicken Masala, Baarish, and recently launched shows including Bebakee and Virgin Bhasskar, amongst others.

“We are glad to have partnered with India's leading streaming platform, ALTBalaji, which has cemented its position with its unique content offerings. It is a perfect synergy that sees two homegrown platforms come together, leveraging each other's strengths. With a common goal of reaching out to the masses and strengthening our presence, we seek to disrupt the entertainment segment for the Bharat audience, once again,” Sumit Ghosh, Co-founder, and CEO, Chingari App, said on the occasion.

Interestingly, the development comes shortly after raised $1.3 million seed funding from venture capitalists, including AngelList India, Utsav Somani's iSeed, Village Global, LogX Ventures, and Jasminder Singh Gulati of NowFloats.

The platform has also raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Tinder chief product officer Brian Norgard and OLX founder Fabrice Grinda.
