WhatsApp is working on adding a number of features to its platform. The company is not only working on a feature that will enable users to request the Facebook-owned messaging app to review a wrongful account ban, but also, in the coming days, the company is expected to roll out an update that will make accepting its Terms of Service optional for those who don't want to do it. Reports indicate that users will have to accept the company's terms of service only if they want to interact with a business. While all of that was serious stuff, here is a change in the offing that is more fun. WhatsApp app is working on a new feature. This feature will enable users to react to messages on WhatsApp just as they can on Facebook Messenger or Instagram. Further good news is that this feature is being developed for WhatsApp for Android, iOS, Web and Desktop.

As of now, you can respond to a message with text, GIF, sticker, emoticon, and even a video. What you cannot do is respond to a message with a preset group of reactions like the ones available on Instagram. To recall, Instagram lets users respond with one of five emoji reactions, which includes heart, LOL, wow, crying, angry and thumbs up. Instagram users can add a seventh reaction by selecting one of the emojis from Instagram's library of reactions. Facebook Messenger follows a similar pattern while letting users respond to a message.

Now, WABetaInfo reports that WhatsApp is working on a similar message reaction feature for messages on its platform. WhatsApp is kicking off the process of introducing this feature by letting users who are on an older version of the app know that they have received a reaction, which they cannot see owing to the fact that they are using a dated WhatsApp version and that they should update it.

While details about how this feature will be implemented within the app remain scarce at the moment, but WhatsApp says that this feature is under development at the moment and that users will have to wait for a few days for the update to show up. We will update you as soon as we hear more about the feature.
