Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission in a bid to provide a digital health ID to the public. This digital health ID will hold users' health records much like Apple card. But unlike the Apple card, this digital health ID card will be available to all Indian citizens and provide them with benefits rolled out by the Indian government. So, what is this Digital Health ID Card for every Indian? Let's find out.

PM Modi while making the announcement said that Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission will connect the digital health solutions of hospitals across the country with each other. “The Mission will not only make the processes of hospitals simplified but also will increase ease of living...Under this, every citizen will now get a digital health ID and their health record will be digitally protected,” PM Modi said on the occasion.

As far as the details are concerned, this new digital health ID will contain various details pertaining to a person, which includes details of every test, every disease, doctors' visits, diagnosis, and medicines taken. It will also help doctors to know about a patient's history before treating them.

Furthermore, the Health ID will use a person's mobile number or Aadhaar card number and all the health records will be viewable with the help of a mobile app, a Healthcare Professionals Registry (HPR), and Healthcare Facilities Registries (HFR).

Here is a step-by-step guide about how to Apply for Digital Health ID Card online:

Step 1: Open the official website of National Digital Health Mission. (https://ndhm.gov.in/)

Step 2: Scroll down to the Health ID section and then click on Create Health ID option.

Step 3: Now, you will be directed to another page wherein you will get various login options:

a) Generate your Health ID via Aadhaar

b) I don't have Aadhaar / I don't want to use my Aadhaar for creating Health ID. Click here.

c) Already have a Health ID? Login

Step 4: Click on the first option if you want to use Aadhaar card to create your digital health ID.

Step 5: Submit your 12-digit Aadhaar number and follow the instructions on the screen to finish the process.
