Facebook on Monday announced the appointment of Arun Srinivas as the Director of Global Business Group. Srinivas will spearhead the strategy and delivery of the India Marketing Solutions which aims to tap large advertisers and agencies.

Before Facebook, Srinivas has worked with companies such as Ola, Unilever, and Reebok. He also worked with investment firm WestBridge Capital Partners where he led the consumer vertical. Srinivas' last stint was with Ola where he served as Chief Operating Officer and Global Chief Marketing Officer. Srinivas comes with an experience of 24 years. He is an alumnus of Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata.

Srinivas' appointment is part of Facebook's increased focus on India's booming digital space. The social networking company earlier this year acquired a 9.9% stake in Reliance Jio Platforms for 43,574 crore.

“Facebook is committed to enabling economic opportunities for businesses, and this charter is more important than ever before as we navigate COVID-19 and the economic crisis. Large businesses and agencies play a crucial role in the country's digital economy and are critical to driving ecosystem standards for media…,” said Sandeep Bhushan, Director and Head of Global Marketing Solutions, Facebook India.
