Fujitsu launches notebooks for small businesses

Computing giant Fujitsu India today launched its new series of notebooks, at a price starting from 21,995, targetted at small and medium businesses (SMBs) in the country.

Computing giant Fujitsu India today launched its new series of notebooks, at a price starting from 21,995, targetted at small and medium businesses (SMBs) in the country.

'The broad Fujitsu 'Lifebook' portfolio offers a range of entry-level and are designed to offer more powerful, individual solutions for the growing organisations,' Fujitsu India Country Manager Workplace Systems Alok Sharma told reporters here.

The company has launched the Lifebook LH531 has a 14-inch screen, 4 GB RAM and is based on Intel Core i5 processor.

The other notebooks include SH531, AH 531 and E751.

Asked about the role of SMBs in Fujitsu's products business in India, Fujitsu India General Manager (Channel Business) Ramprasad Lakshminarayan said the segment contributed about 5-10 per cent.

'Though it is kind of small now, we expect it to grow significantly in the next few years,' he added without divulging specific numbers.

The company does not provide country specific numbers.

Lakshminarayan said the company is focussing on the SMBs and large enterprises as part of its global strategy, so the focus is on strengthening channels route rather than the retail outlets.

Fujitsu is a global provider of IT-based business solutions and has about 1.75 lakh employees. Headquartered in Tokyo, Fujitsu reported consolidated revenues of 4.6 trillion yen (USD 47 billion) for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2009.
