WhatsApp has always faced issues when it comes to multiple device connectivity. Though, recently WhatsApp has introduced a new multi-device update which solved the problem to a large extent for Android as well as iOS smartphones. The multi-device feature allows you to access WhatsApp on multiple devices even in the absence of internet connectivity on the main device, which is the phone. Though, there is still a problem as WhatsApp doesn't allow you to use your account on a second smartphone, it works for the desktop or web version of WhatsApp. But it seems like things are going to change for WhatsApp users!

According to a new report by WhatsApp updates tracker WaBetaInfo, the company is now working on other important improvements. The blog mentioned that, "A second version of multi-device was already planned last year, and we finally have new details today: WhatsApp is now working on a proper section where to link another mobile device!"

Yes! You will be able link your 2nd smartphone with WhatsApp account

According to the update by WaBetaInfo, there will be a new separate section in the app known as 'Register Device as Companion'. The blog shared a screenshot that shows an option 'To use WhatsApp on another device'. This suggests that the feature will show up when you try to open WhatsApp on a secondary mobile device. This way, you can also decide to link your WhatsApp account in order to use it on another device.

The screenshot also brings attention towards the steps to connect another smartphone with your primary WhatsApp account. You will need to point your main smartphone to the screen of the secondary device in order to link them by scanning the QR Code. Once the process is completed, you will be finally able to use your WhatsApp account on another phone.

The blog also mentioned that “thanks to this feature, you will also be able to link an Android tablet as a secondary device in the future.” However, the release date of this new multi-smartphone WhatsApp feature is still unknown as the process is under development. More information about the feature is still awaited.
