WhatsApp this week: Disappearing messages, Mute Video and more

WhatsApp has started rolling out its disappearing messages to its Android and iOS based apps.

WhatsApp is one of the most popular messaging apps in the world. In the past couple of weeks, the Facebook-owned messaging app has been steadily adding features to its platform. This week, more features arrived on WhatsApp. Some of these features we have already heard about, some of these features are new.

So, here are the features that made a buzz in WhatsApp-ville this week:

Disappearing messages: WhatsApp earlier this month announced that it would be rolling out a disappearing messages feature on its platform. This week, the feature finally started arriving in the company's Android and iOS-based apps. This feature enables users to share messages that disappearing automatically after seven days.

Read Later: WhatsApp, as per a report by WABetaInfo, is working on introducing an improved version of its Archived Chats feature that includes Vacation Mode. This feature is called Read Later and it will keep all archived chats hidden even when a new message arrives. This feature also includes an Edit button that will let users quickly unarchive a chat.

Mute Video: Another feature coming to WhatsApp is called Mute Video. As the name suggests, it will enable users to mute a video before sending it to a contact or updating it to their statuses. This feature is under development and it will be some time before users are able to get their hands on it. 

Search for Stickers: Lastly, the messaging app is rolling out a feature called Search for Stickers on its platform. This feature will enable users to search for stickers in the company's iOS-based app just as they search for GIFs.
