Twitter has been attempting to push its subscription plan, Twitter Blue, a lot in recent times. Earlier today, the Twitter Support page reported that only verified accounts will get to send unlimited DMs, while unverified accounts will face a daily limit. After taking away the DM privileges, Elon Musk, the owner of the platform, has come out and promised big earning opportunities to anyone that buys the subscription. He even claimed that verified accounts will get the chance to earn thousands of dollars!

Musk shared a tweet on Saturday, highlighting the proposition. He said, “Many accounts on this platform can earn thousands of dollars per month in advertising revenue sharing if they become verified subscribers”. He further added, sharing the details of the Twitter Blue plan, “Takes 2 mins to become a verified subscriber for $7/month (annual plan)”.

Elon Musk has also shared another incentive to join the verified users, by offering one more avenue of earning through Twitter. In a subsequent tweet, he said, “You'll soon also be paid for ads appearing when others view your profile page, approximately doubling payouts”.

Twitter has been in a bit of a rut lately, as Musk himself revealed that, “We're still negative cash flow, due to ~50% drop in advertising revenue plus heavy debt load”. The problem the company is facing at the moment is that Twitter Blue subscriptions have not really reached the height Musk initially believed, while advertisers have been exiting consistently over the dearth of revenue.

Recently, some Twitter users have come out and stated that the platform has started paying them for the content that they share. This new policy seems to be an additional reward on top of that.

One user reacted to the news and said, “Yes, I made good money on Twitter for the first time thanks to you. I'm grateful to you for this, Elon”.

Another highlighted the long review process and tweeted, “I would greatly appreciate this kind of revenue for my family. But it's frustrating that I've been “under review” for so long considering I meet all of the requirements”.

Another user humorously highlighted an underrated benefit of subscribing to Twitter Blue saying, “Not only can you make money but you can flex your blue checkmark out in public”.
