Instagram memorialises Sushant Singh Rajput's profile
Memorialised accounts are are a place to remember someone's life after they've passed away.
Instagram has memorialised Sushant Singh Rajput's profile on the platform less than a week after the actor was found dead in his apartment in Mumbai.
The social image sharing platform has added the world ‘Remembering' under the profile picture of the late actor's profile in the app. This indicates that the Facebook-owned app has memorialised the actor's account and that it will be available for the actor's fans and loved ones to remember him.
The actor whose last movie Dil Bechara is yet to be released was mostly a social recluse and he has just 87 posts in his Instagram account. He has 12.8 million followers on the platform.
As far as the memorialised accounts are concerned, Instagram notes that such accounts are a place to remember someone's life after they've passed away. Such accounts are highlighted with the word Remembering written next to their names on their profiles.
No one can log into a memorialised account, which means that no one can make changes to the photos or videos added by the person to their profile, change the privacy settings of the account, or make changes to the comments or profile picture of that account. While no changes can be made to a memorialised account on Instagram, ‘posts the deceased person shared, including photos and videos, stay on Instagram and are visible to the audience they were shared with.'
