Kylie Jenner, the 24-year old American social media personality and founder of the very successful cosmetic company, Kylie Cosmetics, has become the most followed woman on Instagram with more than 305 million followers, despite the fact that she was quite inactive on social media over the last few months. After ten people died in a stampede at her partner Travis Scott's performance at the Astroworld music festival in Houston on November 5, she took a break from social media. She came back to her Instagram account on December 24, with a post of a picture with her mother.

Kim Kardashian, Kylie's elder half-sister, isn't far behind and has been sharing snippets of her life with her 278 million Instagram followers. Khloe Kardashian has 212 million Instagram followers, while sister and supermodel Kendal Jenner has the same number too. Kourtney Kardashian, the eldest sister, has 159 million Instagram followers, while their mother, Kris Jenner, has 45.3 million.

However, when it come to the overall score, Kylie Jenner's is the 3rd most-followed account on Instagram, the first is that of Instagram itself with 465 million followers. The most followed person is none other than Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo with 394 million followers on Instagram. Ariana Grande, the singer of 'Thank You, Next,' was the most-followed woman on Instagram before Kylie took the position. Grande took over from 'Hands To Myself' vocalist Selena Gomez in February 2019 with 289 million followers. The latter has 289 million followers at the moment.
