LG continues to bet big on Artificial Intelligence with its latest flagship smartphone, G7 ThinQ. Here are full specifications and features of the smartphone.

LG on Wednesday introduced its latest flagship smartphone, G7 ThinQ. The new smartphone comes deeply integrated with Artificial Intelligence (AI) - a new trend in the mobile phone industry. LG G7 ThinQ comes with a dedicated button that triggers AI tools like Google Assistant and Google Lens.

The company said that LG G7 ThinQ will be one of the first devices to come with Google Lens, a smart object recognition feature. "Google Lens is a new way to search using the latest in AI and computer vision. Available inside the Google Assistant and Google Photos, it can deliver more information on objects such as landmarks, plants, animals, books as well as identify text. Visit websites, add a business card to contacts, add events to the calendar or look up an item on a restaurant menu - all right from Google Lens. More details on Google Lens will be revealed at Google I/O," said the company in a release.

As the name suggests, LG's latest Samsung Galaxy S9-rival features the propriety AI platform, ThinQ, which was launched at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas earlier this year. The ThinQ platform enables smarter features within core apps.

For instance, the camera has improved object recognition, which the company calls Vision AI. Similarly, Voice AI helps the smartphone to deliver better output on voice commands. Prior to LG G7, the company had launched V30S ThinQ smartphone with these AI features at Mobile World Conference (MWC) in Barcelona earlier this year.

"LG has further enhanced the AI features of the camera that first debuted in the LG V30S ThinQ. AI CAM now offers 19 shooting modes, up from eight, for even more intelligence-optimized shots. And users can improve their photos further by choosing among three other effect options if the one recommended by AI CAM doesn't suit their tastes," added the company.

The LG G7 ThinQ will be available in the coming days in South Korea followed by major markets in North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia. Price details will be revealed later.

LG G7 ThinQ also joins a growing list of smartphones featuring a cut-out display, which was popularised by Apple iPhone X. LG G7 ThinQ has a 6.1-inch QHD+ FullVision display with 3120 x 1440 pixels resolution and 564ppi pixel density. The smartphone also features an ultra slim design. The phone measures 153.2 x 71.9 x 7.9 mm.

LG G7 ThinQ runs on Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box and is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 processor coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage. The company is also expected to launch a 4GB RAM with 64GB storage variant.

The smartphone comes with a dual-camera setup on the back consisting of a 16-megapixel sensor (super wide angle) and a 16-megapixel sensor (standard). On the front it has an 8-megapixel camera with f/1.9 aperture. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a, b, g, n, ac, Bluetooth 5.0 BLE, NFC, and USB Type-C 2.0. It is powered by a 3,000mAh battery. It also has a fingerprint sensor on the back.

LG G7 ThinQ extensively focuses on the audio experience as well. It comes with a Boombox speaker which is said to increase audio output by 6 decibels.
