Instagram users can now create a Messenger Room directly from the app.

Instagram has started rolling out Messenger Rooms integration on its app. Now users will be able to create a Messenger Room and start video calls directly from Instagram.

Instagram announced on Twitter the integration is available on the app. This feature is available to all users on Android and iOS. Messenger Rooms was launched by Facebook last month and it’s a new video platform that supports up to 50 people at once. Also, anyone can join a video call on Messenger Rooms including those who don’t have a Facebook account.

Messenger Rooms on Instagram

On Instagram, you can find the Messenger Rooms shortcut in Direct Messages. Here, tap on the video icon on top which lets you make video calls on Instagram. You’ll see a new option to “Create a Room”. Tap on that and select the people you want to add to your Messenger Room. You’ll see the list of people you follow on Instagram that you can add.

Once you’re done sending the Messenger Room link you can head onto the video call. You will be redirected to the Messenger Room to start your video call. Note that this shortcut will only work if you have the Messenger app downloaded on your phone.

Facebook will integrate Messenger Rooms to WhatsApp as well. The shortcut is already available on WhatsApp’s beta versions of Android and iOS. It will arrive on the stable version of WhatsApp soon.
