Microsoft to launch new Surface 4, Band 2 and Lumia phones in October

There’s something interesting brewing up at Microsoft. Technology news website The Verge confimed that Microsoft is planning a huge event in October where they will unveil many new products such as the Band 2, a sequel to its existing fitness band, the Surface Pro 4, the next version of its hybrid laptop, and a new series of Lumia handsets. This rumor was first reported by Chinese site WPDang but The Verge's sources also confirmed it independently.

Technology news website The Verge confimed that Microsoft is planning a huge event in October where they will unveil many new products such as the Band 2, a sequel to its existing fitness band, the Surface Pro 4, the next version of its hybrid laptop, and a new series of Lumia handsets. This rumor was first reported by Chinese site WPDang but The Verge's sources also confirmed it independently.

WPDang suggested that Microsoft might also use this event to unveil two hardware-based products such maybe a slimmer version of the Xbox One and products in the Surface line. Last year, the Surface Mini was to be released along with the Surface Pro 3, but that didn't happen.

It is certain though, that Microsoft's focus on this event would be the two Lumia smartphones i.e. the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950XL (information regarding specifications for both phones have been leaked quite a while back), and the Surface 4.

The Verge suggests that the Surface Pro 4 wouldn't be a drastic change from the Surface 3, but it doesn't mean that changes won't be there. Rumors suggest Windows Hello support for the new Surface Pro 4 and it would be relatively thinner and lighter. It will be interesting to see the design of this thing when it's released.

Microsoft will also reveal the 'Band 2' at this October event, which should be interesting considering there haven't been any rumours about it yet. But the existing information suggests that the Band 2 wouldn't be a disappointment.
