Moto Z4 key specifications revealed ahead of official launch, big camera upgrade expected

Moto Z4 is expected to launch soon. The latest flagship Moto Z smartphone is expected to come with 48-megapixel rear camera and 25-megapixel front-facing camera.

Moto Z4 may not offer big upgrade in terms of performance (Motorola)

After launching mid-range Moto G7 series, Motorola is now reportedly working on a flagship smartphone. Dubbed as Moto Z4, the latest flagship Motorola phone has made multiple unofficial appearances ahead of the official launch. The leaked details reveal big upgrade in the camera and screen departments.

Motorola Moto Z4 is said to launch with a 6.4-inch OLED display with full HD resolution. The phone is rumoured to come with in-screen fingerprint sensor, just like Huawei P30 Pro and OnePlus 6T. As expected, the Moto Z3 successor will run on latest Android OS, Android Pie in this case, with minimum UI customisation. The phone will come with Moto Actions and other Moto preloaded features.

Moto Z4 is also going to see big improvements in the camera department. The phone will reportedly feature a 48-megapixel sensor. According to a 91Mobiles report, Moto Z4 will use its own Quad Pixel technology to deliver high resolution photos. It's also possible Motorola may use Sony's IMX586 sensor for this purpose. On the front, Moto Z4 will sport a 25-megapixel selfie camera. The camera will come with Artificial Intelligence-based features.

While the leaked specifications suggest big upgrade in camera department, Moto Z4 may not offer the same for performance. According to the report, Moto Z4 will use Snapdragon 675 processor - a mid-range focused chipset which powers phones such as Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro. It will also have a smaller 3,600mAh battery but with TurboCharge support.

Right now, there's no word on the price of Moto Z4 yet but it's unlikely it will be more expensive than the previous model, Moto Z3. Moto Z series is known for their snap-on Moto Mods. Just recently Motorola launched 5G Mod for its Moto Z3 smartphone. The latest Moto Z4 is expected to launch with a bunch of new Mods with upgraded features.
