New Hummer gets more tech than ever: Runs on Intel SoC, Android and Unreal game Engine

The entire system is powered by Intel CPU with 64GB storage and runs Android. And since you have Android in the new Hummer EV, you also get Play Store for downloading apps, Google Maps and voice control.

If you are an automobile enthusiast, you might be all hyped-up with GMC's new offering – Hummer EV. This is a 1,000HP “supertruck” that is being placed as a rival to Tesla's Cybertruck in terms of power. But many don't know about the tech that is stuffed inside the infotainment system of the new Hummer. It has everything from Intel processors, Android UI and runs on Epic's Unreal game Engine, the same engine that is behind games like Batman: Arkham City, Borderlands 3, Fortnite, Moto GP18 and more.

Inside the car you have a 13.4-inch infotainment screen, which has the first in-car system designed on Unreal Engine. Reports indicate that the system might be designed on Unreal Engine 4 since the fifth generation is not out yet. It is not for sure though. As a result, the car has a more graphically intense system than most of the other vehicles.

The list includes g-force articulation (friction circle), Drift gauge (with maximum values), Torque output and torque vectoring, Wheel travel, e-Locker engagement, Tire pressure, Pitch and roll angles (with maximum values) and Chassis ride height and Compass.

Lastly, the supertruck's front daytime running light logo also doubles up as a charging status indicator. While the pulsing front light sweeps show up when the EV is charging, it lights up in segments to show you the charging status. The starting price of 2022 Hummer EV Edition 1 is $112,595 and will arrive later next year.
